Leeann Rae

Leeann Rae is an artist based in Orlando, Florida, whose work delves into the complexities of memory and its inherent flaws. A recent graduate of the MFA Studio Art and Design program at the University of Central Florida (2023), Leeann was distinguished with both the College of Arts and Humanities Scholarship and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. She discovered a passion for teaching collegiate courses in drawing and design and is now an Adjunct at both Valencia College and Seminole State College teaching drawing, printmaking, and art appreciation.

Leeann’s artistic practice centers on the creation of large-scale drawings, utilizing charcoal and soft pastels to craft visual interpretations of how she reconstructs and distorts memory. Her work has been exhibited in several national and international juried exhibitions, including Fresh Squeezed 7 at the Morean Arts Center St. Petersburg Florida, Drawing Discourse at the University of North Carolina Asheville, curated by Charles Ritchie (Associate Curator of American and Modern Prints and Drawings at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.), ArtFields in Lake City, South Carolina, Summer Exhibition at The Gallery at Green and Stone in London, UK and most recently Mark: Current Approaches to Drawing at Artlink Contemporary Gallery in Fort Wayne Indiana.
